Systems thinking / enterprise architecture: perspectives on enterprise architecture and systems thinking

EA/ST day bringing the viable systems model and systems thinking together with enterprise architecture. Convener, Jiri Ludvik Book via email to east@scio.org.uk

When increasing the scope of enterprise architecture to business architecture and business change, enterprise architects often find that traditional enterprise architecture methods fail to address the degree of complexity present in socio-technical systems. While not a  'silver bullet',  systems thinking addresses some of these by helping its practitioners to focus on connections and purposes as well as objects and flows, identify boundary-spanning patterns, appreciate stakeholder perspectives and their underlying worldviews, and understand emergent implications and possibilities.
